Travelling to Italy with a peanut or tree nut allergy? This Peanut & Tree Nut Allergy Translation Card – English & Italian gives you a clear, polite way to explain your allergy to restaurant, gelateria, café and hotel staff when you can't rely on a shared language.

What the card says: that you have a peanut and tree nut allergy, that even small amounts could cause a severe allergic reaction needing medical attention, and that nut oils, extracts and flours are included. It lists nuts to avoid, asks "Does this food contain peanuts or tree nuts?", and politely requests clean gloves, utensils, surfaces, cookware and frying oil when your meal is prepared, finishing with a thank you in Italian.

How to use it: show it before you order, not after. Keep it on your phone, or print and laminate copies for your wallet, day bag and hotel room.

• Instant digital download, English on one side and Italian on the other
• Credit-card size, works on your phone or printed
• Useful in restaurants, pizzerie, gelaterie, bakeries and hotels across Italy

The card supports communication, but it can't guarantee that a dish or kitchen is safe. Always check ingredients, carry any prescribed medication and follow your healthcare professional's advice.
